Straight warts

Flat or young warts are growths on the skin of a viral nature that are characteristic of children and adolescents. Their appearance is due to the failure of the immune system at a young age and the inability to resist certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). The disease is caused by HPV types 3, 5 and 10. These types of viruses are very common in nature and are transmitted through direct contact, especially in groups of children. The disease manifests itself only in violation of the immune status, and over time, the warts may disappear on their own.

Reasons

The appearance of straight warts is associated with the penetration of human papillomavirus types 3, 5 and 10 into the skin. Papillomavirus penetrates through small cracks and fissures in the skin and infects keratinocytes. It changes the DNA of the cells and they begin to produce collagen intensively, which leads to the growth of the stratum corneum and the formation of warts.

The virus comes in direct contact with infected people, children develop mainly after contact with other children in kindergarten or school, but adult carriers who have no symptoms of the disease can also be a source of the virus. Warts spread all over the body during scratching or shaving.

Symptoms

When infected with the virus, straight, round or oval nodules up to 3 mm in diameter form on the skin. Papules can coalesce to form polygonal eruptions. Often, at first a mother wart appears, around her appear smaller, daughters. During drawing, the papules grow linearly due to the spread of the virus along the direction of the comb. The knot can be one or more - it depends on the degree of resistance of the body. Formations in color do not differ from healthy skin, but sometimes acquire a yellowish or brown color.

The surface of the rash is smooth and not accompanied by itching, pain or burning. Papules are mainly localized on the skin of the hands or on the face - in the areas of first contact with the viral particle. Although they can spread to other surfaces: to the forearms, the mucous membrane of the mouth or the red border of the lips.

Diagnostics

It is sufficient to assess and examine the specific clinical picture. Rarely refer to virus identification using the polymerase chain reaction.

With a large number of warts and ineffective treatment, a thorough examination of the body and the patient's immune status is performed. A common process usually indicates more serious health problems.

How to get rid of straight warts?

  1. Strengthening the immune system with a drug that has anthelmintic effects.
  2. Keratolytic and antiviral agents are also used: 5% salicylic-resorcinol ointment, oxolinic ointment, interferon alfa-2, ointment or cream with 10% silver nitrate solution. Silver nitrate is not recommended to remove flat warts on the face.
  3. Cryotherapy and laser removal are rarely used.

When warts appear in children, in most cases, the formations are simply tracked, as there is a high probability of self-healing.

Treatment with folk remedies

There are many effective ways to treat warts with folk remedies. They are based on the use of plants and substances with keratolytic properties:

  1. Celandine. The juice from the stem of this plant helps to melt the top layer of warts. The nodules are lubricated with celandine juice several times a day until complete recovery.
  2. Potato. Oatmeal from the top layer of potatoes (only under the skin) is applied to the wart and covered with a bandage. The compress stays overnight. The procedure should be performed daily until the papules disappear.
  3. vinegar. Once a day, table vinegar is rubbed on the surface of the skin area until complete healing.
  4. Kalanchoe. Gruel from kalanchoe leaves is applied to the papule, covered with a bandage or gauze napkin. The compress is stored for several hours. The procedure should be performed every day.

Forecast and results

The prognosis is favorable for the appearance of juvenile warts. The formations do not become malignant and disappear quickly with the normalization of immunity.

To prevent their appearance, it is necessary to wash your child's hands thoroughly after visiting any public places and to treat colds and other diseases that reduce immunity in a timely manner.
